Product description
Anchor your tent first with corner ropes. If necessary also buy one of our tie down kits consisting of extra side straps. The extra side straps are recommended for tents of width 6 metres and for smaller width tents in exposed / windy locations.
The straps come with their own tensioner and heavy duty steel fixing peg.
We recommend you put one strap every 2 metres along the sides of the tent. So if the tent is 10 metres long you need a set of eight straps, allowing for four straps along each side (one 2m, 4m, 6m, 8m from the end):
Storm straps for a 10m long tent
We sell the components individually (single strap or peg) and also in kits designed for a given length of tent. So choose the tie down kit based on the length of your tent.
Which fixings do I need?
Grass
If you are putting your marquee on grass, as a minimum you need a set of four corner ropes with pegs. We also recommend (particularly on marquees of 6m width, but also on smaller models) our tie down kit consisting of tensioned straps and heavy duty tent pegs. These straps should be put along the sides of the marquee, at intervals of 2m.You can also purchase the ground bar kit to give extra rigidity to the bottom of marquee.
Concrete
The marquee can free stand on concrete as long as you purchase a ground bar kit to give a rigid frame throughout. If possible, use ropes at the corners to secure the marquee as well.
If you are unable to use ropes, we recommend you buy a set of four weighted feet instead to weight down the corner poles of the marquee.
